Subject: [cobalt-developers] i18n_new() problem on a qube after PHP upgrade
hi there.
it was neccessary for me to perform a php update on a client's RAQ but
having done so, now the RAQ user interface appears to be broken:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: i18n_new() in
/usr/sausalito/ui/libPhp/I18n.php on line 42
have i missed something or is such an upgrade impossible - do i have to
keep to specific cobalt packages only?
any ideas as to how to fix it will be greatly appreciated as the client
is not too happy about the situation.
best regards,

Dimitar,
The thing that you had missed is if you install PHP on a Qube, XTR, or 550
you will break the box. The reason being that Cobalt had added special
hooks
into their PHP for the admin gui. What you can try to do is to re-install
the
RPM from your restore CD.
Or you can try to install the PHP update from Cobalt's update site:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/patches/cobalt/qube3.eng.html
At least that will have all of the hooks. If you really want to install
PHP,
I used: http://www.edison.ca/cobalt/ which may work for you, because it
installs
it into a different directory, and modifies just the main config files
located in
/etc/httpd/conf
Best of luck to you.
