[cobalt-developers] i18n_new() problem on a qube after PHP upgrade

hi there.

it was neccessary for me to perform a php update on a client's RAQ but
having done so, now the RAQ user interface appears to be broken:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: i18n_new() in
/usr/sausalito/ui/libPhp/I18n.php on line 42

il18n appears to be a library for international languages support, so i
find it odd that that would break

PHP Version 4.2.3 was compiled using the following:
./configure 
'--prefix=/usr' 
'--with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs' 
'--with-gd' 
'--with-gettext' 
'--enable-safe-mode' 
'--with-config-file-path=/etc/httpd' 
'--with-exec-dir=/usr/bin' 
'--with-zlib' 
'--enable-magic-quotes' 
'--with-regex=system' 
'--with-ttf=/usr/lib/libttf.so' 
'--enable-track-vars' 
'--enable-xml' 
'--disable-debug' 
'--with-mysql'

have i missed something or is such an upgrade impossible - do i have to
keep to specific cobalt packages only?

any ideas as to how to fix it will be greatly appreciated as the client
is not too happy about the situation.
