I looking for a primarily intranet server for a small organization. The
Qube 3 works great for this but I need it to be more powerful and rackmount.
The server will maintain a database of about 500K to 1Million records.
What are the major differences between those three, any bad experiences out
there. The XTR seems like the winner hands down with raid 5 and up to 4
front mount HD, ?hot-swappable.

Raq 550 ---------------- NO COMPARISON!!!
Newest Kernel
MySQL built right in (just need to turn it on).
XTR is nice, but too big. Almost 2 feet deep? (Roughly). Sure, it is nice
to be able to hot swap the drives. But, a good admin always keeps spares
sitting around. If that is what your looking for. Just keep the rack's
case
unscrewed, so you just un rack it, swap it, and back up. The 550 is the
newest
one, and I like it a whole lot better then the XTR. It also uses the JFS,
so
if you would substain a power outage, and if your a bad net admin without
any
type of UPS, you have a lower chance of it corrupting the files! You can
get
it with RAID support. I believe either stripping or mirroring. But, I just
use the mirroring myself!
Just my two cents!
