Re: [cobalt-developers] Flashtool error

Hey all,

	I'm starting the preparation for installing Red Hat Linux 7.2 to a Cobalt Raq3 that I have available. However, during the procedure to upgrade the ROM, I receive the following:

[root@host /root]# ./flashtool -v -r > stock.backup.rom
./flashtool: searching for PCI 10b9:7101 : found it at /proc/bus/pci/00/03.0
./flashtool: systype = COBT_3K
./flashtool: map_rom(): mmap("/dev/mem")
: Invalid argument

This seems to occur no matter what flags are passed to the flashtool. Any recommendations? The above output is from the 1.15 flashtool, however, I get the same results from the 1.13 flashtool

You need to update your kernel to something resembling recent before it can work. 2.2.12 is ANCIENT, and did not support mmap() of /dev/mem
