Did you open it up on windows first? Very strange, as I did not have
that problem when I installed Tomcat 4.0.4 on couple machines?

However when I create text files and open them up on windows I do
experience what you are describing. Sometimes that happens when I go the
other way as well. But these days I do very little on Windows.

But for the record good to know, in case I run into it or others do as
well.
