I'm migrating a server, all went not to great but finally got the server
working with the new virtual sites etc working.
Now i move the server accross to the new IP address, after a few minutes i
can get the telnet prompt back, but apache doesn't start :d
So, i change the IP back to the original using /sbin/ifconfig but upon
restarting, the IP's back to the new one and ofcourse, apache isn't working.
upon running meta-verify.pl, it tells me that the database entry for 'home'
doesn't relate to the rest of the system.
I think this is dut to not changing the 'home' site to the new ip before
hand (D'oh!)
So any ideas how to change the IP without the cobalt interface running?
No, unfortunately its a co-located server so i cant use the panel to do that
either :(
I have to pay someone a large amount of silver coins to do it at the
data-centre end, so this a last resort.
Hope you all had a great Christmas, 'net servers dont get holidays :)
Cheers folks,
Paul Adamson
