The other issue nobody seems to acknowledge in all these threads about
FrontPage, is that you can still publish a FP2002 site to FP2000 server
extensions. The only issues that arise are if you use any of the newest
components that are FrontPage 2002 specific. We have published many sites
for people using FrontPage 2002 with FrontPage 2000 extensions without any
problems.

It would help the Linux cause take large leaps forward if we all looked for
solutions to working with Microsoft products until we have better and more
marketable solutions for applications like easy-to-use web editors.

Surprise.
NetObject Fusion http://www.netobjects.com
Homesite http://www.macromedia.com
Cold Fusion Studio http://www.macromedia.com
Dreamweaver http://www.macromedia.com
Go Live http://www.adobe.com
These are all major web editors and some are pretty easy to use.
I use NetObject Fusion regularly. There are some others out there that are either free or inexpensive. Microsoft does not even make their own products work together. My sister is a teacher and was shown Publisher as a product to create web pages in. She did. It stinks!!!! It tells you it creates web pages. Try it. It IS a Microsoft product. Frontpage problems people are having are just pure Microsoft. They want everyone to upgrade everything to the newest Microsoft Product and version available. I have sold a lot of software and it has always been the history of Microsoft to obsolete products, even their own. Yes we are going to have to work with Microsoft products, but we also need to keep our customers informed as to what we can do and what products can be used. I am sorry if that means more work for you. But then again, you can always get a Microsoft Windows server and run IIS on it. Oh yea, they are making major changes to the next version of IIS too. If you have a server running a Windows Server and IIS now, it might now work correctly with the next upgrade. Don't blame it on Linux for Microsoft products not working with something.
