RE: [cobalt-developers] Latest PostgreSQL version on the QUBE3?



I was able to convert the postgres on my Raq4.  I would hardly say that
I had no problems though.

Here's what I would do on the next attempt.

- Do a dump of the postgres database.  This is actually required.  Thank
goodness I did a full backup before I did my conversion.
- install the new postgres carefully following the directions in the
documentation
- start postgres which will pretty much axe your data.
- restore the dump created before starting.

One little tip I came across that was really handy was the location of
the admin password.  This is valid for a Raq4, but may not be the case
on a cube.  It's readable only by root, but you can find it at:
/etc/cobalt/.meta.id
