I don't run the list, but here's my interpretation of why this thread
may be on-topic:
My opinion is that the user's list is for those who use the list as
provided, and the developer's list for those who make changes to the
basic functionality.
We're not trying to sell our own product; we're talking about other
products and how to get them to run on the Raq.

We're talking about developing products to work on the RaQ, and porting
products to work on the RaQ. My understanding (someone will no doubt
correct me if I'm wrong) is that _that's_ precisely what this list is
for.
As far as why someone telling you that you were spamming, I can't find
that thread (I archive back through December of 1999) so I really can't
tell you.
