You dont need a pkg to install phpMyAdmin...
Just get the .tgz version,
tar -xvfz phpMyAdmin.version.tgz
in a subdirectoy that is password protected.
vi config.inc.php
and the password for your MySQL root user there (if you are the only one
going to use it) OR learn how to setup multi users
You are done...
2 minutes of yout time including the wget of the tgz
