I believe that there ARE NO WAY of doing what you are thinking off.... I
researched this subject but never was able to find a solution!! If you find
one, it is appreciated if you can post it on the list; however, you must use
PHPLIB or similar type of solutions for authentication which in turn enables
we based user login.

Subject: [cobalt-developers] secure server authentication
We are interested in serving pages from our secure server on our Cobalt box.
I want to control access through the .htaccess file. Most importantly, I
want to provide the user and password information without the user seeing
the user/password prompt. In other words, when a user typically tries to
open a restricted page, a user/pass dialog is posted. I would like to
provide that information in the link or through script on the jump page so
that the user never needs to enter a user name and password. In fact, if
the user never knows the user/pass, it would be a very good thing. Any idea
on how this is done?
Thanks,
Fred
