Re: [cobalt-developers] Qube 3: problem running jdk 1.3.1

I answered my own question, regarding .pkg files. I will leave the answer here, just in case somebody else needs it:

To use the rpm's in a .pkg file, simply mv X.pkg to X.tar.gz. Then use standard decompression methods. There should be a directory called RPMS, which contains pertainent rpm's.

Thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately, the cobalt jdk is in a .pkg file at
developer.cobalt.com/java. Do you happen to know where the tar.gz file is
available? Or would you happen to know where I could find a fix for my
glibc?

BTW, if I did fix the glibc only, would I be able to load the "plain-old"
jdk from java.sun.com?

Thanks!

Try using the Cobalt Java Developer Kit (it's on developer.cobalt.com).
Or,
if you just want the JDK, the problem you're having is that threads library is broken for that version of glibc. You'll need to up grade the glibc RPM.
To do this, I would recommend downloading the Qube 3 Java Dev kit RPM from
the website, untar it (it's just a tar.gz) and then use the glibc RPMS in
the pkg to upgrade glibc.
