[cobalt-developers] Pricing of Cobalt training documentation is outrageous!!

Now is as good a time as any to post the following:

Sun Cobalt is not really doing a lot from their side to encourage
development for the RaQ - not when one looks at the asking price
for their training manuals.

The training set (Certification Pack) contains 5 manuals at the
*low* price of only $695 (hurry while stocks last) ...

Three of those are Linux manuals (fundamentals, system admin and
networking), one describes the GUI interface (also avaliable for
free in PDF format from their site) and the last one covers what
we all want to know about:

>>
RaQ 4 Technician (5 Chapters, 220 pp.)
The RaQ 4 Technician shows you how Sun Cobalt uses Linux on the
Sun Cobalt RaQ server appliance. You will study the relationships
between the browser-based GUI and configuration files. You will
learn; how to observe changes and recognize anomalies in files,
how to correct files if necessary, and how to recognize potential
bugs.
>>

The average price for a Linux book is about $50 (maybe even less)
[alternative in brackets], thus:

RaQ 4 Administration (5 chapters, 120 pp.) [free pdf file]
Linux Fundamentals (10 Chapters, 534 pp.) [$50 from Amazon]
Linux System Administration (10 Chapters, 372 pp.) [$50 from Amazon]
Linux Networking (10 Chapters, 448 pp.) [$50 from Amazon]
RaQ 4 Technician (5 Chapters, 220 pp.) [None]

Does this mean that Sun Cobalt is selling the latter at $545?
It appears as if there is a huge opportunity for somebody to
document "the relationships between the browser-based GUI and
configuration files". One that I'm going to grab with both hands!
