Do *not* install this version of MySQL. It has a major security exploit
that has been well publicized. I am pretty sure there is an RPM for the
Mips architecture on one of the Cobalt FTP sites or somewhere else, though I
don't recall where. I'm not familiar with this error, but I'd at least
check to see if the file in question is located on your box in /usr/lib or
/usr/local/lib. I don't recall what the ncurses update was about, but if
you want to remove the new version and install the old version, I imagine
the old version is available on Cobalt's FTP site under the RaQ2 directory.
rpm -e and rpm -i should take care of it once you find the old RPM. If it
doesn't help you can always reinstall the newer version.

Yes. MySQL 3.23.36 is the current stable release. I'm not sure I've
installed anything newer than 3.23.33 on a RaQ2 (I'm runnning this version
on a RaQ2), though I'd recommend installing the latest version if you're
comfortable installing from source. You can find it at www.mysql.com. 3.23
became the stable version a few months ago and I ran it without problems on
a RaQ2 for about a year before it was declared stable.
