I assume the message they get is from their email client.
Are these 5 users attempting to use email from the same
location (IP)?
Do they get through if they retry?
What do your log files say, is there a entry for there
failed attempt?
Is it possible that the users (if from same IP) nameservers
reverse lookup
is not working?
Sorry, mostly questions, but I think we need more
information.
