Re: [cobalt-developers] Why ??

The short answer is that cobalt linux mail does not support virtual email
domain and this is why virtual email domain is the best way to go. I am
trying it to install on cobalt raq2. Have lot of problem with it. Piece of
Shit. Cobalt tech told me that cobalt linux was port from redhat, but since
cobalt linux source code was modified slightly from redhat. Not all
software from redhat will work on cobalt.

Virtual email domain works fine with redhat. But I have so much problem
with cobalt. By the way, I used Linuxconf to create my virtual email
domain. Maybe linuxconf is the wrong thing to use, but I do not know what
other software we can use on cobalt to support virtual email domain.

Basicly, you need to be able to create user id as info@xxxxxxx and
info@xxxxxxx , I can do this on redhat 6.x , and 7 by using linuxconf to
create virtual email domain.

I got linuxconf to work with cobalt after many hours of work, because of all
the libraries that were not came with cobalt linux so I have to download and
compile and install. I was able to create test@xxxxxxxxxxxx and
test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and able to receive mail for them, but I can't retrieve
them through pop. Again the pop version on cobalt raq2 is 1 or 2 version
behind. So I need to install the new imap package, and of course the rpm
modules can't install the source code so that I can compile for raq2 (mips)
(piece of shit). If it was up to me, this machine will be use for door
anchor.

The error message I got was -ERR: can not open file
:/var/spool/vmail/mydomain.com/test

But I have the directory wide open, so I assume it got to do with the
interaction between vpop3d and ipop3d, of how ipop3d look for mail file.
That is why I want the new code to see of it works, but can't install the
stupid

I have one more hurdle to go. As soon as I get it to work I will let you
know.

By the way, if anyone have a better ideas, please let me know too. I am
desperate right now.

Thanks
