RE: [cobalt-developers] Branding in a Hosting Environment

+I work for an ISP that is currently using Cobalt Raq3
+and Raq4 for hosting. We are wanting to brand all of
+the pages that a client would see:
+
+The Place Holder page
+All site management pages
+All help roll-over texts
+
+I can do the pages by copying and overwriting the
+existing pages, but I would like to be able to put
+them in place of the defaults so that when we create
+new virtual hosts, the new branded ones are what are
+created. I have found the ui.po module that creates
+the help text, modified it, and created new virtual
+hosts, but the changes don't take affect.
+
+Has anyone done this? How did you do it? What files
+did you overwrite?
+
+Thanks.

Jason,

ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.net/pub/contrib/binaries/RaQ2-Generic-UI-1.0.pkg

This was done for the Raq2-MIPS platform but you should be able to disecct
it
and make one that works on Raq3-4.
This version removes the Cobalt logos and replaces with the Linux Penguin.

"Logoless Web UI for Cobalt RaQ 2 Servers"
 aka
"Convert the Web Administrative User Interface to
Look Like Your Own Using Your Logo Easily"

       --- Unsupported Feature Addition ---

  Aug 30 1999 Will DeHaan <cobalt@xxxxxxxx>

Package Contents:

Alternate images for the Server Management and Site
Management interfaces that do the following:

    - Eliminate the Cobalt "=C" logo from the top-left
      of each menu
    - Replace the panel of dots on the left banner with
an image of the linux mascot Tux.
    - /etc/cobalt/generic-ui/logo.gif
A default logo, the linux mascot Tux actually.
    - /etc/cobalt/generic-ui/update.sh
Script to be run after editing or replacing
      /etc/cobalt/generic-ui/logo.gif that propagates
the image into the administrative web interface.
    - /etc/cobalt/generic-ui/README
Directions explaining how to add your own logo
      to the administrative web interface.

Instructions:

Download the pkg file to your PC.
Go to the Maintenance -> Install Software menu of your RaQ 2.
Click Browse, select the package file. Click the Install button.
  That's all.

Your browser will likely cache the old interface images (logos)
so click the browser Refresh button while holding "Shift" on
  your keyboard.

Nothing impresses the boss like having your corporate logo
appear all over a styling Cobalt server interface. Give it a
try today.
