RE: [cobalt-developers] ISP shutdown - RaQ 3 down

you should be able to ftp with the IP address and it will let you in. I do
this all the time before DNS is functioning for new sites.

Subject: [cobalt-developers] ISP shutdown - RaQ 3 down

Hello everyone,

Our ISP went down over the weekend (down as in out of business). So when I
came in Monday morning, the websites were not up. This wasn't that big of a
deal, since this machine was at a development location. But since the
machine name of our Cobalt RaQ 3 is the default or parent web site
(www.sitename.com), we're now not able to reach the machine within our
network. We can still telnet into the cobalt, but as far as ftp or browser
access, we don't have it. The error log says unable to resolve address
www.sitename.com because of course there isn't a DNS record for us now, not
to mention an IP address. How can I access the machine, what files will I
need to change so I can go to it's local IP address and do system
administration, I will also need to have ftp access so I can get our
websites off of the machine. Any advice or help here is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave Simms
