Do you think my problem is with the kill portion did I need to reinitialize
it instead of stopping & starting. I was able to get the server in a sense
started by uncommenting the last line of the inetd.conf file but it tide up
all ports, FTP, Telnet, Mail, etc were all blocked. At that point my client
side interbase terminal in test mode passed the test & the server accepted
the SYSDBA & masterkey passwords. But I still couldn't make a normal
connection & it was blocking all my ports. I can't seem to get interbase to
run properly.
My main problem is starting the server so the cobalt is listening for a
connection to interbase, without interrupting all other ports. When it was
blocking all ports it still was not working properly.
How did you start the interbase server? Did you have to modify any files?
Thanks for the input, looking forward to more.
