I did man chmod first, but I seem to be going round in circles. Trying to
search for a good lesson on setuid, setgid and the term 'effective user id'
on search engines is almost impossible (try it ;-)
All I'm trying to work out is *why* this has appeared in my /home/sites
directory, and whether it is safe to run
chmod -R g+x /home/sites
as root to change all the (eg) drwxrwsr-x files to drwxrwxr-x
or whether that will work anyway?!?
DOes *anybody* out there have a clue why the setuid appears in the listing?
What's it doing?!?
more thoughts welcomed
cLive ;-)
