It doesn't help anything.  Since there's only supposed to be one PTR
record per IP#, having multiple PTR records may eventually break a
program that's written according to spec.

You seem quite clueful, and I like the way you write as well <smile>.

Of course since most of us host with upstreams who do NOT delegate
reverse DNS to us, it's likely that the reason the reverse DNS isn't
hurting anything is because no one is seeing it <wry grin>.

Don't even bother with PTR records unless your ISP / upstream has told
you that they've delegated the address space to you.
