[cobalt-developers] Strange Httpd.conf Problems

Hi all,

Have tried to talk to Cobalt about this, but there tech support seems a bit confused by it all! Anyway here we go,

I installed some equifax 128bit certs on my server, one on the main site and one on a virtual site (both different IPs).
Prior to doing this I did the self signed thing, and that worked great.

After moving to the equifax certs(good instructions on how to do this in the archive of this list, and from Equifax - thanks Tony
and Equifax), and then upgrading with the patch, I cannot access any of my SSL sites via https://

I also get the problem that when I make a change to ANY of my site settings via the admin screen, the changes get made, but I get a
'There is no virtual entry for siteX'. I even get this with the home site!

Being a clever chappy(?!) I decided to see what would happen if I removed all SSL stuff- Same problem.
I then removed a virtual site and replaced it, and it started to work OK. I even did this with the SSL site that was not the main
one (obviously cannot remove that one!). That now works and I can even access it via https://

The problem is that now when I look at my httpd.conf file I have got TWO entries for those two sites. Kind of like duplicates!

It seems that the system is ignoring the first(full) set of virtual host entries and just skipping to a new lot that it has created.

I could of course delete all the entries and replace them, but that would takle forever, PLUS I cannot delete the main site, and it
is this that I need SSL for.

If you have any ideas, please tell me (and Cobalt!) as I seem to be totally lost!!

Kind regards,

Matty
