Re: [cobalt-developers] RAQ3i: Telnet denied

It appened to me once I was trying Chili!ASP.
The ASP server log error feature was enabled and thi caused
the first device to be filled w error log.
At first I didn't notice this , I only noticed the raq freezing.
Tried a few things... among them resetting the admin password from
the front panel with a pin... ARGHH!!!
The procedure that changes the password reads the line of the
password file into memory, changes the password, deletes the line
in the password file, write the new line with the new password.
Unfortunately in the mean time the ASP error logging facility
of the Chili!ASP server found some more extra space on the partition
to fill and..that's what it did.

result: no more admin account!

So I had to open the RaQ, remove the harddisk, open a spare PC,
connect the drive to the IDE connector, boot a tomsrtbt disk
( http://www.toms.net/rb/home.html ), mount the partition,
locate the filling file, remove the bugger, changed the name of
/opt/casp in /opt/casp-old so that the asp server could restart,
add by hand the missing line in /etc/passwd, remove the hd,
put back the hd in the raq and everything worked fine.

Since then I uninstalled Chili!ASP and still waiting for others
to continue the asp experiments on the RaQ.

just my .2$
