My only concern really is, if I do get some other OS and implementation installed, how do I give the users some means of managing their sites? Is it practical and functional, mostly secure enough, to use the special sauce scripts and code with a new interface and possibly front end to manage the security of those scripts?
No. The scripts themselves have the problem. If you could easily fix it, you could easily fix it without changing to slackware.
The problem IS in how the scripts manage the UI. Disable it, or don't tell anyone about and don't set up any "admin" users. Set up the box for your clients yourself.
Just like it was any other Linux box. Jeff -- Jeff Lasman, nobaloney.net <jblists@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> <www.nobaloney.net>, <www.mailtraqna.com>, <www.email-lists.com>
