No. The scripts themselves have the problem. If you could easily fix it, you could easily fix it without changing to slackware.

The problem IS in how the scripts manage the UI. Disable it, or don't tell anyone about and don't set up any "admin" users. Set up the box for your clients yourself.

Just like it was any other Linux box.
