Let me clarify for you all, as the C2/3 thing is at least partially my
fault :)

1) The kernel that ships is C3, and teh source is C3, the only thing
that is wrong is the Makefile.  Somehow I built teh packages with it
saying C2.  If you change EXTRAVERSION to say C3, and run 'make dep' all
is well.

2) SCSI is a conflict with glibc.  If you do
	rpm -Uvh --force kernel-headers-2.2.12C3.i386.rpm
then scsi should be OK.

3) Chris covered that - boot from Rom in case of emergency
