I was having some problems with logfiles in /var/cobalt and erased most of them (problems as in disk almost full). Unfortunately, I erased /var/log/status which appears to be a critical file for the monitor program. Does anyone know how I can recover the contents of that file so that /usr/local/sbin/monitor will stop emailing every single customer on my RAQ (RAQ v 1) and admin pages will start functioning normally again? No I don't have a backup copy of this file and yes this was a very stupid thing to do!!! I have disabled monitor from running in /etc/crontab so I think I have prevented all my customers from getting spammed for now. I swear I will never touch a server on Christmas day again. TIA, Fraser P.S. Please send responses directly to me (and the list as appropriate) since I am subscribed to the digest version of the list.
