Morning guys ☺
Have connected a tape drive to the rear of my 4i/550 in the stupid
hope that it might be recognised by the interface and that I could
backup directly onto the tape drive.
However, of course, it cant be seen by the interface!!
Your system may not have mounted it (I can't remember if the 550
automounts devices or not; can anybody else sing out?). If you
telnet/ssh into the system, as root, what do you get when you type
both:
df
dmesg
(With dmesg, only paste the last 10 or so lines at most, only
interested really in anything recent that mentions SCSI or that tape
drive).
Also, unplug the tape drive, type the following in:
tail -f /var/log/messages
Then plug the tape drive back in; you should get some stuff coming up
on the screen. Paste that here too.
Type in CTRL^C to cancel that command once done.
