Hi Dave,With regard to your connection difficulty, do you have a firewall? Use ipchains? iptables? ipfwadm? You need to make port 22 available on the RaQ from your workstation.
SSH/Putty:Putty is your Windows client to SSH and encrypts all data including username/password to the RaQ. There are two SSH protocols available for both client and daemon on the server. SSH1 is considered insecure, even though it utilizes encryption. You should set the protocol in /etc/ssh/sshd_conf from 'protocol 2,1' to 'protocol 2' and set Putty to connect only using SSH2 protocol.
scp/WinSCP:scp is installed with SSH and can be used to take the place of ftp. The WinSCP interface, once connected, is similar to WSftp. Set the Connection for SSH to protocol 2.
Cheers, Glenn
Thanks to all that replied so promptly.. Problem is I keep getting A Putty Message: "Network Error - Connection Refused" Should I have made any config changes on the server or rebooted after installing the package > > > _____________________________________ > cobalt-users mailing list > cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > To subscribe/unsubscribe, or to SEARCH THE ARCHIVES, go to: > http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-users _____________________________________ cobalt-users mailing list cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe/unsubscribe, or to SEARCH THE ARCHIVES, go to: http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-users
