[cobalt-users] FTP problems after proftpd re-install

Hi all,

since Monday's FTP patch disaster I've reloaded ProFTPd and it seemed to be working. Using ftp clients inside and outside the FW and I can login and ftp files as before using the account details of one of my clients.

However  since Monday the client can not even login into the RAQ550 and I do not see any login attempt in /var/log/xferlog. His error messages are

> 421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection
> Login failed.
> No control connection for command: Permission denied
> ftp>


Nothing has changed on his site but I had the proFTPd reinstalled. Is there anything else I need to change in the config to restore the previous situation or is it a co-accidence.

The client has a ftp server and ftp-s files to many organizations but only our ftp server has the problem since Monday hence I suspect the ftp crash to be responsible for it.

Could be something relating to active - passive ftp? I seem to be using passive ftp, how can I change to active ftp if this would be required?
