Greetings, listfolk.
We have 3 RaQs running 550 software. This morning I
was greeted with messages from all 3 regarding the
following update:
Name: RaQ550-All-Security-0.0.1-16623
Version: 1.0
Vendor: Sun Cobalt
Copyright: Copyright Sun Cobalt Networks 2002
Type: Update
Description: Proftpd Security Update
Curious, a 2002 (c) date. I went ahead and installed
on our non-production machine using the GUI, and it
seemed to go normally. However, as of now, the
machine is not responding to FTP requests.
Here is my output if I attempt a restart from the
command line:
[root run]# proftpd restart
- error: "(null)" address/port (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:21)
already in use by "ProFTPD"
- Fatal: </VirtualHost>: address/port configuration
collision
I have checked the archives, and a similar issue
appears to be reported with other updates, with the
fix being to remove duplicate VirtualHost entries in
proftpd.conf. However, I have looked at
/etc/proftpd.conf and have not found any duplicate
entries.
Any other experiences with this? Suggestions? Ideas?
Any help would be appreciated.
THANKS!
