Have you tried the usermod command?

Subject: [cobalt-users] Mapping Username to UID
Hi,
I am playing with the creation of a backup raq server, which is supposed to
be identical
in all respects of the primary server, but have hit upon a problem in that
the automatic
creation of a usernames UID sometimes does not match on both servers, which
then causes
problems of permissions and the like.
Is there anything that can be done at the command line, that can set a
specific user with
a specific UID.
I am hoping that this is a simple case of assigning something like this at
the command
line, but whether this is possible or not, is what i need to try and work
out somehow and
hope someone has come across this before.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Mac
