Your data center should be willing to switch your system to another
ehternet port, and tell you what the port is showing for the connection
(HD/FD? 10/100?). Then they should reboot your system for you and if
you can reach it after it's rebooted you should check your ethernet
port using mii-tool to see if it's connected at the same. You might
try using mii-tool to renegotiate settings between their switch port
and your eithernet interface.

(Warning: getting your data center involved could cust anything from
nothing to a lot, depending on your contract with them.)

One missing piece from your equation is your IP#.

Another is if you run any firewalling.
