Hi Glen,

Thanks for the response. I've upgraded MailScanner from 4.14-9.
The maillog file shows no error messages (except when I uncomment out the call to the PID file in the MailScanner.conf file.

Any ideas?

Subject: MailScanner error - MailScanner.pid file not found

I've upgraded my MailScanner program to 4.25-11 on a Cobalt Raq4 server. When I start MailScanner, I receive an error in the maillog that the program could not find the file /var/run/MailScanner.pid.

I created the file manually, but every time the service is restarted, the file gets deleted by the /etc/rc.d/init.d/MailScanner file. How does the MailScanner.pid file get created? For some reason the file is not being created when the service is started.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you!
Hi Tad,

Are you sure you are stopping MailScanner before restarting the new version (ps aux)?
