I thought you might ask that, Gerald.
/boot 100 mb
/ 1 gb
/var 3 gb
/usr 1 gb
/usr/local 1 gb
/tmp 1 gb
/home the rest
And then you wouldn't have to have all those symlinks.
Allow quotas on /var and on /home but certainly not on /tmp.
