Does anyone have a startup script for Mailscanner 4.25-14 that works on a
Raq3? The one that came w/ the mailscanner distrubtion seems to fail
starting up or stopping sendmail:
Starting MailScanner daemons:
incoming sendmail: 554 readcf: unknown option name PidFile
ok
outgoing sendmail: readcf: unknown option name PidFile
ok
MailScanner: ok
Shutting down MailScanner daemons:
MailScanner: MailScanner ok
incoming sendmail: head: /var/run/sendmail.in.pid: No such file or
directory
head: /var/run/sm-client.pid: No such file or directory
ok
outgoing sendmail: head: /var/run/sendmail.out.pid: No such file or
directory
ok
Also, should I still have the /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail startup script run
or should I remove it because Mailscanner script already startup sendmail
(this is of course once I can get the Mailscanner script to startup/stop
sendmail properly)
Thanks,
SW

AFAIK, The one on the MailScanner site is correct. It's newer than the
one on uk2raq.com, which was written for MailScanner 3.
Basically, sendmail can improve performance by using multiple queue
directories. MailScanner 3 did not support that. (MailScanner 4 could,
but doesn't.) MailScanner's author, Julian Field, likes to remove the
multiple queue directories when MailScanner is installed.

Richard.
