I have been going through my various log files, trying to figure out a
few odd problems. I noticed that last log was very big - very much so
when you consider that this system has only been running for about two
weeks.
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 19136220 Dec 14 00:12 /var/log/lastlog
The outuput of the command that reads the file does what it is
supposed to do - provide one line for each user - most of my users
have never logged in - and I find that it actually even tells me who
has been using webmail. However lastlog is a large binary file - and
all this information would consititute a very small text file.

Is it supposed to be rotated somehow? Why is it large? Is something
wrong?
