I started down that road, but it is a major pain in the ass.. It was
easier to install the Raq550 software on a drive (in the raq550), rip
out the drive and make an image of it. I then made some modifications to
certain binaries (mainly for the LED display) and I have a Raq550 image
that runs under User Mode Linux (http://www.usermodelinux.org). The same
concepts apply to Vmware.
