At the same time I was upgrading my RaQXTR to run the RaQ550 OS, I
upgraded the meomory to 2GB with two additional 512MB sdram (yes
registered ecc 133MHz). I have been experiencing strange crashes -
Oops crashes and just odd unexplained crashes. My two great suspicions
are problems with RAID and problems with memory.
I downloaded a memory check in packaged form using a link on the sun
raq forum. It indicated that it was only testing 512MB of my 2GB of
RAM. The system, judging from the output of top, or "cat
/proc/meminfo" sees and uses it all. Tony (I think it was he but I'm
not looking at them message) suggested I try to download a newer
version from memtest86.com, which I am trying to do -- though its not
clear to me how to build if for use on the RaQ.
I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to test memory.
