Any way to get one (iso)?

Would running the restore cd erase the data on the drive? (we only care about the data, not as much the server itself).

How would I run the restore CD? It has no CD Rom Drive.

You can download the ISO image of the restore CD here ... ftp://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/iso/ Just grab the right image for the machine you're trying to restore (RaQ4, 4i, or 4r), and you're off and going.

The Restore will erase everything on the drive ... data and everything. If you need to recover the data off the machine first, suggest you remove the hard drive from the RaQ, install in another machine, and backup the data before you run the OS restore.

The restore CD is run from a separate computer. Basically, it boots up the machine, runs the linux kernel from the CD, and creates an NFS server that the RaQ can boot from. Then, you'll go to the RaQ, have it boot from the network, and it will start the install routine from there. When you start the OS Restore server, it will give you directions on how to boot the RaQ for the install.

Hope that helps.

Charlie
