For some reason the root password on the RaQ 4 server has stopped
working,
I've tried resetting the admin password both in the web interface and
by pressing the reset button beside the LCD. It successfully
updates/resets the admin password but still can't su to root (claims
wrong password).
This server is offline (local network only), and we need to migrate
data off of it. But that's proving to be a problem without being able
to use root (su).
My plan was to tar up all the directories & files in /home as root and
ftp them off the server in one fall swoop.
Not to mention the Site Management section of the web interface is
broken. We get the following error:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable to complete your request.
At this point we don't care about fixing the server (if we can fix it
later - fine, if not - no biggie). We just need to get the data off one
way or another.
Any ideas?
At this point we no longer care about the server! Just the files...
Can I stick the drive into another computer and pull the files off that
way? Tried with RedHat 7.1 and Mac OS X 10.3 but had no luck reading
the drive.
Thanks for any help.
