I have a Qube 3 which I took over having earlier been a SysAdmin in an MS environment. It has been looked after well - all the updates from Sun were installed EXCEPT one -- Qube3-All-Kernel-4.0.2-2.2.16C35-III-1, this was an early Kernel update. A later one WAS installed -- Qube3-All-Kernel-4.0.1-2.2.16C37-III-1. The Qube work well. BUT BlueLinQ continues to tell me it is not installed. Does a later update include earlier updates like it usually does in the MS world?
Generally the Cobalt patches are standalone, and do not include stuff in earlier patches. The exception are the OS upgrades which are inclusive.
In this particular case, the -37 kernel is just a newer version than the -35 kernel. So not inclusive, but a newer replacement.
Do I have to worry about this?
Nope.
If I don't, How do I get BluLinQ to ignore it?
Not sure. There's probably a way if the CCE database was manually updated, but.... I have a MySQL update "waiting" on mine that I'll never use as I install mine from source...
