You edit like any other file...
--------- one line --------
cp /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DB_File.pm
  /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DB_File.pm.orig

then
vi /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DB_File.pm
OR
pico /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DB_File.pm

If you screw it up
cp /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DB_File.pm.orig
  /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-linux/DB_File.pm
