[cobalt-users] comprehensive patch list for Qube 2?

Hi all;

I have a new-to-me Qube 2; I'd like to restore it then apply patches so I know what state it it in rather than use the config it came with. Plus a SCSI question.

I've searched the archive a lot and looked around the web a bit; but am still a little confused about what updates I have to install, and what I do not. There's a nice list at:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=cobalt/ qube2.eng&nav=patchpage which indicates even older stuff is present at the ftp site, some of which are mentioned as superceded by the patchpage above, other are not- just sitting there as pacakges. And where did /experimental go? it's referenced a few places as having useful items.

And about SCSI- some archive posts indicate that I'd need to recompile the kernel to get support for the few cards that the Qube 2 can use, others that I would not need to do so. At this time, if I apply all the patches will SCSI support be thus in place? If not, which kernel source to use? There are a couple available but no indication that they are specific for the II or other appliances, some things I've read indicate there isn't a kernel update available for the II anyway.

It would help a lot if someone who has a "perfect Qube 2" in terms of main system patches could email me the patch summary page from their administrator site. Currently I have installed (the Qube arrived with:

Cobalt OS Release 4.0
Qube2-All-Security Release 3.0.1-8061
Qube2-All-Security Release 4.0.2-8747
Qube2-All-Security Release 4.0.2-9077
Qube2-en-OSUpdate Release 4.0

and it looks like it's missing at least the Qube2-All-Security Release 4.0.2-9353 and Qube2-all-security 4.0.7. More?

My goals are to get this set up for ftp and/or sftp (how secure is ftp at this time?) and working with an AHA-2940U card, plus Appletalk. I'd put o nthe POP-before-SMTP and a webmail package too. I'd like to serve a small database that is currently housed on a Mac serving with FileMaker Pro, but that can wait and I don't really wish to lose the GUI to get PHP/MySQL going (which is required, right, that I break the GUI with the necessary updates to Apache etc?).

Thanks for comments; packages are spread out like a hot breakfast between /developer and /packages and some seem to supercede the others; I got a bit lost. Help with the basic, essential ones is much appreciated!
