Our Raq5 has taken over the dns management from our old raq4. I
manually added the domains to the control panel adn then started
named. Our serial number is very low 1068568931 whereas before it
was 2003102423 and this is causing problems with updating on our
ISP providers secondary nameserver who has a higher serial number
than ourselves.
In other words the ISP's secondary thinks that as it has the
higher serial number, that it is up to date, and changes made on
our primary nameserver are ignored.
Two questions. Why is the raq5 not using the preferred format for
seriali.e YYYYMMDDNN? (date on our raq5 is 14th Nov 2003)
How can I make a change to the serial without it being
overwritten by the GUI?
thanks
Jon
