On 11/12/2003 6:55 PM, Bruce felt like writing:
I was downloading some updates from Bluelinq this afternoon. A
colleague was installing some other software. Now the root password
is different, so we (the only people that knew it) can't su. We're
stumped as to how that happened. Ever heard of this before? Anything
we can do short of a complete restore?
This happened to one of our RaQ4s when it was OS restored, one of the
patches caused the etc directory to become etC (dont know how) the only
way to fix it was to pull the server down and use the front panel to
rename the directory back.
This is just about as odd. I wish the problem was as easy to find as
yours though!
