Re: [cobalt-users] Mail Openweb Mail and disaster recovery

I have dealt with the error before...
Assuming you check that your MX record and all DNS is setup properly (and propagated)
the next thing to do is delete the user account, and re-create it.
If this fails, then delete the website, and re-create it.
(Make sure you back up before you do this)

I had that same error, and all sendmail files had been created properly but for some reason re-creating the user account in one case fixed it, and re-creating the whole site for another case.

Let me say that this is an overly agressive way to fix the problem, but it worked for me.
(Its not like I eat/sleep/dream sendmail, but I tend to know my way around it.)

Good luck!

Yesterday I attempted to upgrade a RaQ XTR converting it to run the

Because of that I'm trying to move some functions over to the RaQ 3i
running 550 software I had used for testing. Also restoring bits and
pieces from a mangle CMU export import. This has the full MailScanner
and SpamAssasin software packages from Nuonce as well as their
OpenWebMail.

I would like to fix the following things as quickly as possible.

0. iptables. I had a bunch of chains of the form "ipchains -A forward
-s 192.168.1.0/27 -d 0.0.0.0/0 -j MASQ" that I used for some machines
to get to the outside. I've read through iptables tutorials and I
can't seem to get the three or four lines to work. I have a
192.168.1.x net on my eth1 and a tiny group of IPs on my other
interface.

1. On the xtr even though users might be for different sites they
could put in /webmail and get there mail. Now some users (server
admins) don't seem to have access through the web pages at all. I
relied quite heavily on josh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx being the same as
josh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and need all user names recognized as one user for
all servers with mail delivered. (including server admin accounts)

2. Some users seem to get some password errors. I assume because data
may have been lost. Is this common? Universal fix or do I have to do
each user as they complain.

3. I lost a lot of info for mailing list sites and servers, (I have it
backed up -- I hope but not restored) but I can't seem to get it the
default address working.

4. "Couldn't get read lock on
/home/.sites/33/site5/users/143/matts/mbox!" was hit by one user.
