RE: [cobalt-users] chkrootkit



Also remember to reinstall chkrootkit now and then.  Anyone who would gain
access to your system would most likely look for a copy of the program and
possibly alter its functionality.

Another cron job that would wget the latest version and install it would be
handy as well.

You need a line in your root crontab like this:

30 1 * * * (cd /path/to/chrootkit/dir; ./chkrootkit 2>&1 | mail -s
"SECURE1
daily chkrootkit" root)

(note this is all one line.)
