do you have more than one host set up for the domain?
ie mail.example.com, www.example.com, example.com?

you should have in the gui
Host Name               www
Domain Name             example.com
Web Server Alias        example.com
Mail Server Alias       example.com

you need to have an "A" record in the dns for
example.com and
www.example.com
you need MX records for
example.com to www.example.com and
www.example.com to www.example.com
