Hi Mark,
A few things: are you using the correct format when sending email to your IP
address, it should be in the format:
postmaster@[11.22.33.44]
i.e. the IP address must be surrounded by square [] brackets.
If you are and are still getting the error, then what is in your file
/etc/mail/aliases for postmaster and root. Their lines should read:
postmaster: root
root: admin
Could you post the actual bounce error that you get back from emailing the
IP address (might be a good idea to change it a bit to hide your live IP
address)?
