Q1.) Not sure on a 550 but on a Raq4 the databases are created by default
away from the vsites area so they do not get considered as part of the
quota.
Q2.) Depends what you are trying to do with them really. Size can be two
ways - you can have a very long database with few fields or a shorter one
with many fields. Whilst then the data quantity is the same the timing of a
search will vary widely.
Q3.) Available hard disk capacity.
